Stephen Mwakesi
Stephen works with owners, investors, lenders and governments where a resource project’s legal, fiscal and institutional exposures determine whether it gets built, financed or stalls.
His experience includes advising the Cabinet Secretary at Kenya’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mining, contributing to the Republic’s successful defence in an ICSID arbitration, and leading the Kenya Chamber of Mines through the development of the Mining Bill 2014 that became the Mining Act 2016.
